After Woodgate Beach, we “went bush” for a couple of nights. The first time was out in a very rural area, just on the side of a gravel road, where Agile Wallabies (I think) looked at us in amazement. I guess it is entirely possible that they have never seen anything quite like our campervan before.

We went for a walk in the complete darkness (about 6.30pm) and took our new super flashlight that casts a long beam. We were trying to find the boobook (owl) that was calling but had no luck. One reason we love to go bush is the complete silence and darkness. At home, outdoor lighting has stolen our darkness and therefore also our starry skies. Today’s urban generations will grow up unaware that such wonders exist right above their heads.
