New South
Wales, where we now are on DST – an
enlightened state!
We have
spent 2 nights in a delightful caravan park in a small village called
Tenterfield. The first day, we enjoyed the spectacle of parrots at feeders
right next to our site. On the first
morning, we awoke to the musical duet of a pair of magpies – lovely!
The second
night, no food in the feeders so not so many birds for us to look at up
close. Still, it’s nice to be in a place
where bird song is constant, bottlebrushes bloom , the scent of jasmine is in
the air and where campers know how to be quiet so as not to ruin it for others.
If Canadian campers behaved as well as Australians, Jock and I might still be
campers in our own country.
We had a
good day in several NPs close to town. Nothing spectacular except for the Bald
Rock, “ the biggest in the southern hemisphere”. But we enjoyed the truly
beautiful forests of several NPs.
No wonder he's called the king parrot! He sat so close to me that I had trouble focusing the camera!
